The Los Angeles Rams made a surprising move, trading wide receiver and team captain Ben Skowronek to the Texans, according to ESPN.
Skowronek, 26, developed a reputation as a special teams ace since being chosen by Los Angeles in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft and emerging as the Rams captain of that unit last season.
Having won a Super Bowl ring with the Rams, Skowronek could offer a strong veteran leadership presence for a rising young contender.
Through his first three seasons with the Rams, Skowronek has pulled down 58 catches for 575 yards and scored two touchdowns.
In addition to his contributions as a core special teamer, Skowronek caught eight passes for 66 yards with one touchdown for the Rams last season.

However, Skowronek’s path to becoming a steady offensive contributor had seemingly been blocked by veteran Cooper Kupp and standout rookie receiver Puka Nacua’s emergence as one of the most dynamic playmakers at the position across the league during a stellar 2023 campaign.
