Ex-F1 driver claims Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc set to have ‘personality clash’ at Ferrari in 2025
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Lewis Hamilton sealed his shocking move to Ferrari for next year before the 2024 season began. The Briton will be paired up with Charles Leclerc and form one of the most interesting lineups on the grid. Both drivers drive extraordinarily well and have their own unique strengths. Hence, seeing the two battle out on the track in red would be highly exciting. However, former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has showcased the negative side of pairing the two together.

Ferrari-bound Lewis Hamilton has been struggling to score great results in the 2024 season due to Mercedes’ degrading form. However, the 39-year-old might return to his winning ways after joining Maranello. On the other hand, Charles Leclerc has showcased a smooth sailing performance in the season, all thanks to Ferrari’s consistent efforts. Hence, Juan Pablo Montoya reckoned that it would be ‘interesting’ to see how smooth it goes with the two drivers in the same chassis.

It will be interesting to see how smooth that goes with Charles and Lewis in the cars, to be honest, Juan Pablo Montoya said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

Apart from this, both the drivers have completely different personalities and driving styles in Formula 1. Leclerc performs exceptionally well during Qualifying while Hamilton has great overtakes. Hence, the two drivers would often clash heads with the Italian constructor to overtake one another on the track. Pablo Montoya pointed out that there would be a ‘personality clash’ in the team soon.

There's going to be a personality clash there. It's going to be fun to watch. Juan Pablo Montoya noted.

Nico Rosberg believes Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will give a ‘tough battle’ to each other

Charles Leclerc has quickly rose to success at Ferrari and is above Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ standings this season. Speaking on the team-up, 2016 F1 champion Nico Rosberg claimed that he was ‘looking forward’ to the dynamic. Additionally, Rosberg highlighted that Leclerc didn’t go into much conflict with his teammate.

We're all looking forward to that dynamic, Charles doesn't seem like someone who goes into conflict too much with his team-mate, so that will make it easier, maybe it won't be too extremely spicy. Nico Rosberg said, as reported by skysports.com.

However, Rosberg also did recall that Leclerc was the second-best qualifier after the dominating Max Verstappen. Hence, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton teaming up at Ferrari will provide a tough battle for each other. Joining Ferrari might be beneficial to the Briton as he could quickly start scoring better results than he currently is at Mercedes.

Nevertheless, Charles is probably the second-best qualifier out there after Max Verstappen, one could possibly say at the moment, so it will be a tough battle for both. Nico Rosberg added.

Both the drivers are currently making the best with their setup in their respective teams. However, Ferrari’s consistency and Hamilton’s experience might be a great fit. The 39-year-old might have a chance to compete for the world championship once again. Currently, the Briton will focus on ending the 2024 season on a high with Brackley.
